For Rohingya youth living in refugee camp settings in Bangladesh and beyond, traditional employment options are extremely limited, though some are able to volunteer through NGO-based projects.
However, in today’s digital world of remote opportunities, Rohingya youth should not depend only on local jobs where wages are very low and there is little or no chance for professional growth or skill development.
I have seen many youth and friends working in low-paid jobs for years without gaining new skills or progress. As a Rohingya myself, I understand the challenges and struggles our people have faced for decades to nearly a century. What our youth truly need is to cultivate discipline, good manners, and strong expertise in fields such as science, technology, engineering, healthcare, governance, and other impactful areas that can lead our nation toward stability and growth.

One of the most critical crises in the Rohingya community is financial poverty, caused by long-term instability, displacement, and systematic destruction over decades. For years now, many Rohingya youth have been forced into dangerous sea journeys, detention in foreign countries, or involvement in serious criminal activities. These tragedies happen due to unemployment, financial insecurity, and a lack of hope.
Every sincere Rohingya youth must try to work for themselves, their families, and their community or at the very least, sustain themselves without harming their own lives or others around them.
